““Medicine Makes Me is a callback to early millennia rock when music was loud, rambunctious and fun. With a catchy hook that easily wedges into memory and stays put, the song is completely seamless. Every member has their part to play and is given their moment to shine without feeling forced or janky. Medicine Makes Me glides through the ears with an ease that can only remind one of early Foo Fighter’s work: realized, memorable and special.”” - Leah Rantz (Radio DJ at Lazer 99.3)
Everglow is a fitting album title for a band that is called Always Manic as it evokes an immediate sense of warm nostalgia upon first listen. The album feels like one I would’ve kept in my iTunes in the early 2000s or kept in a trapper keeper in my car nestled beside Foo Fighters and Rise Against. (Yeah, throwback) The band themselves are polished and gelled, with each member knowing when to bow out gracefully to let the other shine. Everglow rips straight into vocals with powerful lyrics like ‘Even Gods knows that you’re a liar’ and doesn’t relent the head bangers until the final note of Medicine Makes Me. Everglow feels like an old friend: familiar and comforting, but as a brand new experience. Leah Rantz (Radio DJ at Lazer 99.3)
